Learned to crochet a bomber sweater with exaggerated bobble sleeves

cover

— 2019

As a part of my ongoing adventures in handcrafts, I decided to teach myself how to crochet. Over the course of a few months, I modifed an existing pattern to create this gray bomber-style sweater.

I was immediately attracted to the contrasting proportions brought by the oversized sleeves. I also loved the variations in texture created by main body pattern, sleeve bobbles, and ribbed eges.

For the past several months, I had been teaching myself how to embroider by hand. After making several practical gifts, I wanted to shift to more fine art projects. For this experiment, I wanted to combine the different stitching and knotting techniques I had learned while focusing on small details.
